Being cheap drinkers we are always on the look out for cheap drink specials in Las Vegas and the $2 Dos Equis beer special at the locals Boyd properties will work. The special is good at the Gold Coast near the Strip as well as at The Orleans, Suncoast and Sam's Town to get the price you just have to have a B Connected players card (free to join up); as part of the special they also have $2 Cuervo shots the gold or the silver.

We love cheap food deals here at Cheap Stake Las Vegas and a good one is at the El Cortez for a burger and a beer. The deal is for $5 you a 1/2 lb burger with chips and a 12oz domestic draft at their coffee shop, Cafe Cortez and is available for 24 hours a day. The El Cortez is located Downtown on East Fremont a block from the Fremont Street Experience.

The California Club and Snack Bar at the California Downtown has long been a favorite of us here at Cheap Skate Las Vegas because of its low prices and value for money. The snack bar is located just inside on of the hotel doors and includes the usual snack bar food such as burgers and hot dogs as well Hawaii food as the property flies in Islanders on package deals. So if you hanker for Spam products or other popular Hawaiian food then this is your place. The picture is of a Philly Cheese Steak which as you can see is a good size although the bread was a disappointment but the rest of the food was good. The price for the Philly Cheese Steak is $5.25 and the large soda was $2 so after tax the order total was $7.84 which is a good Cheap Skate bargain.

When you walk up and down the the Strip or even Downtown you see numerous racks with free Las Vegas guides as well as coupon books as well as often in hotel lobbies. The guides can be useful for show times and restaurant information among other things and they also often include discount coupons in a section of the guide or in the ads. Coupon books as the name suggests are just straight books of discount coupons. If its a guide or coupon book either way the coupons inside can save you money usually on shows, activities or shopping and sometimes food deals. Either way its worth checking them out but especially on shows explore other deals because even with the coupon you may be able to find a better deal at the half price ticket shops or through on-line or hotel deals.

One big advantage about the start of football season in Las Vegas is the food and drink deals in and around game time as each property tries to draw in the football fan crowds. The locals casinos are especially big at promoting food and drink deals one big casino owner Station Casinos with numerous off Strip properties has deals that a Cheap Skate would love. At the Station properties such as Palace Station you can get $1 beers and $1 hot dogs that runs all day Saturday, Sundays and Mondays through the football season. Sure not exactly a gourmet dinner but a good snack and drink at a Cheap Skate price.

The Casino Royale is a smaller property on the Strip across from the Mirage in a expensive part of the Strip for cheap drinks. But Casino Royale is a Cheap Skate favorite because you can get $1 Margarita's which although containing a lot of syrup are still a good deal for a buck. Along with the cheap Margarita's is the $1 beer bottle special which has been going on forever and is usually a Michelob. So if your budget is taking a beating check out the San Francisco themed Casino Royale for a cheap drink.

One way to save money on hotel rooms is to stay at a hotel property off the strip. If you are driving in to Las Vegas and want to save money this is a good option as the prices are lower than the strip properties. By staying at these smaller properties off strip you also have the advantages of getting to your room quicker and not having to deal with the traffic problems with some strip properties. If you are not driving in to Las Vegas its still possible to stay at some of these properties to save money but be careful with your choice. Taxi rides back and forth from the strip can add up and also even though a property only looks a block from the strip that block can be a long walk. Hotels such as the Rio and Gold Coast are a block from the strip but in between is a real busy on ramp and off ramp from the interstate which is dangerous to cross. If you want to stay at one of off strip properties without a car look for one that operates a free shuttle service to the strip; Some of these properties also offer shuttle services to the airport, but routes and times are always subject to change. Some of these shuttles that have been running for years include properties such as The Hard Rock, Rio, Gold Coast, Orleans and Showboat. The shuttle for the Showboat stops at several properties on the strip as well as downtown but one note about this shuttle is they sometimes ask for a Las Vegas hotel key or your check in confirmation at the Showboat. I guess this is to stop locals from using this extensive shuttle as free transportation around town.

One of the cheapest times of the year to visit Las Vegas is the week between Christmas and New Years. Especially right after Christmas, Las Vegas is really quiet and thats the best time to get cheap rooms. Often I have stayed downtown or off strip for really cheap at this time and received flyer's under my door from the property offering additional nights stay for $19 or even $10 per night. Just make sure you are gone by New Years Eve because the rates go through the roof for the same room as the New Years party crowd arrives.

Okay they days of the $2.99 all you can eat buffets in Las Vegas are for the most part gone, but you can still eat well without breaking the bank. Most of the big fancy hotels on the Strip like the Paris, Bellagio, MGM and the Mirage and the like have real fancy buffets with a huge selection of unusual items from around the world. These buffets are great and i would suggest you have one at least once during your trip. But most of the time you just want to eat and get back to gambling or shopping or whatever you plan to do. In general buffets in older, smaller or off strip properties are less expensive and may not have the selection but the food is usually pretty good. The prices in buffets get more expensive generally as the day goes on so breakfast is usually cheapest and then lunch is a little more with dinner being the most expensive. Because Las Vegas is a twenty four hour town if you are out at weird hours and eat then you can save money. Most buffets don't close between sittings so if you show up just before breakfast ends and they start switching over to the lunch items you can eat the lunch items for the breakfast price and the same often works between lunch and dinner. Most hotels offer Seafood or Steak nights or Champagne Brunch, during these times the price of the buffets can raise a lot so if you are a Cheap Skate you may want to avoid these times. Discount coupons for buffets can oftend be found in the show guides in your room or hotel or in the Las Vegas Newspapers as well as in funbooks when you sign up for slot clubs. If you are playing a table game and betting for a while ask the pit boss for a comp for the buffet it doesn't hurt and quite often they will give you one or at least a discount to it.

Okay because I'm a cheap skate there is nothing I like more than a freebie; It used to be easy to get things for free in Las Vegas but its getting harder and harder. If you click the title of this story it will take you to a printable coupon for free entry in to the great Imperial Palace Auto Collection. I have visited this museum many times and its worth the admission price of $10 but if you click the link you can get in for free. If you forget to take the coupon with you, often out front of the Imperial Palace they hand out coupons to get in to the Auto Collection for free as well if you are there at the right time.
